This is something that can usually cheer me up. I used to watch this all the time in college after having a few drinks. Maybe it's not as funny with out the drinks....
Don Herzfeldt did a series of cartoons for a children's program. They all got Rejected.

Do a search for Rejected Cartoons on YouTube to watch the whole thing. It's pretty long and completely awkward. Always a good time.
